These handsome two-piece fine porcelain tea caddies were produced by Royal Copenhagen to commemorate the American Bicentennial in 1976. Of traditional shape and with gold leaf flourishes throughout. Highlighted by hand-painted designs of George Washington and Queen Margrethe II in profile as well as early variations of the Great Seal on the reverse. Den Kongelige Porcelainsfabrik was founded in 1775 under the patronage of the Danish royal family. It is one of the oldest porcelain factories in the world in continuous operation.
