President and Mrs. Reagan Mottahedeh Chinese Export Porcelain Style Monteith Bowl

We proudly offer this extraordinary piece of Americana, one of only 125 ever produced.
The bowl's exterior is richly gilded with panels of the Great Seal of the United States alternated with quotes from President Reagan. The interior is centered by the Presidential Seal and eight shields dated for each year of the Reagan Administration. The underside is inscribed: "Presented by the President and Mrs, Reagan Recalling Eight Memorable Years 1981-1989."
The bowl was specifically designed as a gift from the president and first lady to members of the president's cabinet, foreign dignitaries and special colleagues. The grand cobalt and blue monteith was commissioned by President and Nancy Reagan in 1988. The bowl's exterior panels feature four significant quotations taken from the president's speeches. These panels are alternated with gold American presidential eagles, above whose heads fly the words "E Pluribus Unum."
