Washington National Cathedral’s west façade houses the west rose window which incorporates more than 10,000 separate pieces of glass in a composition nearly 26 feet in diameter. Installed in 1976, the creation rose was designed by master stained glass artist Rowan Le Compte in keeping with the iconography scheme of the Cathedral. This rose window design is inspired by the words of the Book of genesis, "and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep…and God said Let there be Light.” Weight: 6 lbs.
