Meticulously crafted in walnut, the design is a detailed replica of the ornate bronze grille that forms the centerpiece of the Small Senate Rotunda floor, one of the oldest areas of the Capitol Building, where it remains to this day. Sixteen stars surrounding the perimeter and set-off the beautiful interior mosaic. Able to withstand temperatures up to 400 degrees.
